Timing a Repurpose with a Relaunch

When a company or organization comes out of obscurity they do so with a vengeance. SXP Magazine is known throughout the entire Southeast US underground entertainment industry as the first online magazine catering to the hip-hop culture 100% viewable online by flipping pages with just a click of your mouse.

SXP Magazine gained nominations from various independent industry award organizations from 2007-2009. The magazine won awards as Best Online Magazine from the Southern Entertainment Awards (SEAs) both in 2008 & 2009. Afterwards, the publication took a bow and a sabbath.

Now with a new editorial staff, SXP Magazine is back! I know that with the new addition in my family being about 1 month old plus a few days now, #19 is completely thrown out the window. ;-)

Redeeming Time Ministries Final Phases

Our client requested simplicity in the beginning phases of building her ministry's online presence. Simplicity is exactly what we delivered. Redeeming Time Ministries' site can be easily expanded, managed and shared as it grows over time.

This year our client will be hosting her first event conference. We've done all we knew to do to keep the coordination of it simple as well as provide a learning experience for our client. What she deemed at first a major project requiring ample amounts of hands and minds, literally came down to her expanding her learning curve in technology. Our final phase for this client is incorporating her ministry's social network integration and online prayer request intake form.

Our customers gain mass amounts of knowledge within our dealings. Our goals at YEM is not only to serve but to teach. We can bring you fish all day, but if we teach you how to go fishing, you can provide for yourself for a lifetime. Our client will be a life-learner as her faith expands her territories both on earth and online.

A.S.P.I.R.E's Non-Profit Fundraiser eMarketing

Managing a non-profit isn't as easy as it seems. You have to have qualified team members, each with specific skills that will help the organization go from good to great. Fundraising would have to be both creative and encouraging to potential donators.

The executive director, Tiffany Burleson, wanted to have a fun centralized theme so she incorporated her 40th birthday into the fundraiser to attract a set market of potential donators. She provided me with three essential colors of purple, turquoise and pink for highlights and I went from there. We made sure to keep the fundraiser theme throughout all of the graphics. She will be using both print media and online promotions to attract potential donors.

As a team member on A.S.P.I.R.E's advisory board, I take my position seriously and stick to giving every ounce of my web development, graphic designing and marketing skills to helping this organization flourish. For me to do anything else is pointless. I'm looking forward to the end of this fundraising season to see how well everyone's hard work paid off. New Client: Redeeming Time Ministries

Redeeming Time Ministries (RTM) has been added to our client list. YEM will be working with this organization from the founder's ideas and vision all the way through to brand identity management manifestation. Yes, this is almost like going to school but hey - its what you DON'T know that hurts you. *Some of the links have changed since I originally composed this information as well as costs associated with membership registrations. ~Legacy

1) ISRC

US International Standard Recording Code (ISRC) - Attached

You can email the form to isrc@riaa.com . Should take 3-5 business days for a reply with all the information you need. Remember, all remixes or revisions of ANY song assigned an ISRC to original version WILL NEED A NEW ONE.

2) BDS

4) ASCAP

Royalties from radio play, tv play and film synchronizations (song in film coming from club scene, radio in car scene or background music for a scene) are collected thru ASCAP/BMI/SESAC.
Join ASCAP using their online services if you haven't done so already.
You can join ASCAP online. Songwriters & Producers will need to apply for a Writer's membership. The owner of the recording label, will need to apply for a Publisher's membership. A Writer's membership costs $25 each. A Publisher's membership costs $25 each. I advise you apply online for the memberships for faster processing. You will need to come up with at least (5) five separate Publisher names. ASCAP will pick one for you so make sure they are good ones you like. Use the best name choice 1st.

If you have joined already - do a search on your writers full legal name, performing name and company name to see the results. You have to have your songs registered with ASCAP and have the ISRC within the registration information.

5) SoundExchange

SoundExchange serves in the same capacity as ASCAP except the royalties are from internet streaming (radio with web streaming) or usage.
You can find all the information you need here: http://www.soundexchange.com/
You will need to read about Sound Recording Copyright Owner (SRCO) and Recording Artists/Artists Representative registrations to understand your label's role and a writer's role. There is a separate Producer's registration info section. Read that one, too. A company may very well own some of a producer's work and therefore will be "Producer" in some instances.
